State of KS Registered Apprenticeship Program

Registered Apprenticeships are a talent development model that combine actual work experience with classroom related instruction and produce workers skilled in the occupation of choice.

During this presentation, participants will learn:

What a Registered Apprenticeship is and how it provides a training model that moves participants from entry-level skills to full occupational proficiency
The components of a Registered Apprenticeship and how businesses can develop qualified training and instruction that qualifies
How to understand the human resource implications of long term apprenticeships to meet proper training, compliance and other related obligations of the business

About our Speaker

Gary Westerman is currently employed with the Kansas Department of Commerce as a Veteran Employment Services Manager. In this role he manages both Veteran Services as well as Registered Apprenticeships.

He brings strong leadership skills to his current position that were refined over twenty–five years in the US Army.
