Flint Hills SHRM Superhero Award Winner 2025

Adrienne Hayes is the Human Resources Manager at Varney & Associates, CPAs, where she leads firm-wide HR and talent initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations.

A Manhattan-area resident for over 30 years, Adrienne comes from a proud military family—as both a military child and former military spouse—and is also the spouse of a law enforcement officer. Her background has deepened her commitment to service and community engagement.

When she transitioned into a dedicated HR role, Adrienne immediately joined SHRM to strengthen her professional network and deepen her involvement in the field. She currently serves as President of Flint Hills SHRM and has previously held roles as Vice President and Communications Director. At the state level, she is an active member of the Kansas SHRM State Council and has held several leadership roles with the Kansas SHRM Conference Planning Committee, including Social Chair, Sponsorship Chair, Volunteer Chair, and Conference Co-Chair.

Adrienne is involved in her community, serving as Secretary of the Konza Rotary Club for the past six years and volunteering with organizations such as Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, Riley County Humane Society, and the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program. She is a proud graduate of Leadership Manhattan and holds the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation, along with certifications in emergency response and professional development.

Adrienne thrives on problem-solving, building relationships, and making meaningful connections—always with a focus on helping people and teams grow and succeed.
